11 Horses Arrive for 2018 Oaklawn Season

HOT SPRINGS, Ark. - Oaklawn Park in Hot Springs is set to begin its 2018 live meet on Jan. 12.

Hundreds of horses are already in the stalls to get ready to race. Gate training got underway on Tuesday morning.

Eleven more thoroughbreds arrived on Wednesday after their flight from Southern California landed in Little Rock.

They're from the barn of two-time Kentucky Derby winning trainer Doug O’Neill. This marks the first time that a trainer from California has brought an entire stable to Hot Springs for the entire race meet.

The horses then took another ride by truck to Hot Springs and then headed to the barn they'll call home for the season.
