A-State Football Player Suspended after Drug Charge

JONESBORO, Ark. (KAIT) - A wide receiver with the Arkansas State University football team has been suspended indefinitely after being cited Monday for misdemeanor drug possession.

KAIT Region 8 News in Jonesboro reports that Head Football Coach Blake Anderson announced the suspension of Cameron Echols-Luper, 21, on Monday night.

“This is a disappointing situation with Cam, but we are still in the process of looking at all the details and facts,” Anderson said in the KAIT report. “Once we have gathered all the information, we will move forward appropriately with a final determination on Cam’s status as a member of this team.”
