LITTLE ROCK, Ark.--This Easter Sunday offering people in Central Arkansas the chance to worship together and celebrate the resurrection of Jesus.
An annual tradition continuing Sunday as people gathered on the Arkansas River for the community Easter Sunrise Service. This ecumenical service is organized to serve the central Arkansas community by Pulaski Heights United Methodist Church (PHUMC).
The 2017 sunrise offering will support El Zócalo Immigrant Resource Center, a non-profit organization whose mission is to promote a dignified life for immigrants in Arkansas through connecting families to resources and services and fostering community-wide understanding through education.
This is the 29th straight year this service has been held on Easter Sunday. It began in 1989.
