HOT SPRINGS, Ark. (News release) -- Arlington Resort Hotel & Spa is pleased to announce that Sky Capital Group LP of Little Rock, AR. has acquired the hotel in a private transaction from Southwest Hotels, Inc., owners and operators of the Arlington since 1954. Southwest Hotels, Inc. was founded by Grady Manning in 1929 with continued operations by the Manning and Scott Family.

The Arlington Resort Hotel & Spa, one of the South’s grand hotels, is Arkansas’ largest with 478 rooms with a full range of resort amenities including a Spa and Thermal Bathhouse; a 45,000-square foot convention center; the famous Crystal Ballroom; the elegant Venetian Dining Room; mountainside twin cascading pools with hot tub; a unique Starbucks coffeehouse; and the award-winning Lobby Bar.

The Arlington is the architectural anchor to world-famous Bathhouse Row adjacent to Hot Springs National Park. The current 93-year-old hotel opened in 1924 and has served as one of Arkansas’ premier meeting places for conventions, weddings, reunions, etc. while hosting celebrities and leaders including U.S. Presidents, entertainers like Barbra Streisand, sports icons like Babe Ruth, gangster Al Capone, and hundreds more.

Al Rajabi, CEO of Sky Capital Group said, “We have long had a strong interest in this grand hotel, its rich history and iconic location.

“We are excited about the continuing renovations of The Arlington, and are pleased to now become a good corporate citizen in one of America’s great resort cities. We plan to celebrate the 100th Anniversary of this Arlington in just seven years and will be working to maintain it as one of the great American grand hotels.”

Bob Martorana, the Arlington General Manager since 2009, said that Sky Capital Group had developed, renovated or remodeled more than 30 hotel properties.

In Arkansas, the group owns and operates the Four Points Sheraton on University Avenue in Little Rock. Martorana was previously the general manager there before joining the Southwest Hotels Group.

“We are truly excited that Sky Capital and Mr. Rajabi are committed to maintaining the historic Arlington’s position as one of the South’s premier resort and convention hotels,” said Martorana.
