Update: Name of Officer Struck By Vehicle Released, One Other Person Injured.

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. --(Update) A 33-year veteran of the Little Rock Police Department is in serious but stable condition after being struck by a vehicle early Sunday morning.

Another man was also struck and received minor injuries, he is in stable condition.

Lieutenant Johnny Gilbert and 25-year-old Daryl Johnson were hit on Daisy Bates around 12:40 a.m.

The officer was working a homecoming event at a building at Ringo and Daisy Bates.

Johnson had been arrested by officers for alleged disorderly conduct and Lieutenant Johnny Gilbert was escorting Johnson back across the street when they were hit.

A vehicle traveling west bound on Daisy Bates struck Gilbert and Johnson. 

The driver of the vehicle did not stop and fled west on Daisy Bates.
