Driver Dies, 2 Pedestrians Hurt in Rogers Accident

ROGERS, Ark. (KNWA) -  A driver has died after an accident that left two pedestrians with life-threatening injuries.

It happened around 5 p.m. Sunday in the 4200 block of S. Pleasant Crossing Drive outside a Walmart store. 

On Monday morning, the Rogers Police Department (RPD) released the names of the victims.

The RPD says Fredrick Guidry, 79, struck the two pedestrians with his car before running into a pole. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The pedestrians have been identified as Joshua Smith and Ashley Grishby, both 27.

Police say they were both flown to a Springfield, MO hospital and were in critical condition.
