EF-2 Tornado in Kensett Tuesday, Confirms National Weather Service

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - The National Weather Service has confirmed an EF-2 tornado hit Kensett at 7:09 p.m. Tuesday.

The storm in White County had winds estimated at 115 mph and began roughly just less than a mile southwest of Kensett.

The NWS says its survey is not yet complete.

Two people were reported injured in Kensett but none had life-threatening injuries, according to the Searcy Police Department (SPD).

The SPD says three homes were destroyed in Kensett and 10 more have been damaged.

The National Weather Service also said Wednesday that an EF-1 tornado had struck at 7:05 p.m. Tuesday in Higginson, which is also in White County.
