Fox16 Investigates Initiative to Launch This Week

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (News Release) -- Fox16 has announced the launch of the new initiative Fox16 Investigates which will focus on developing, digging and discovering stories viewers won’t see anywhere else in Central Arkansas.

Fox16 Investigates will feature the work of Emmy-award winning journalist Marci Manley.  Manley has worked in television and print newsrooms across Arkansas for more than a decade.  Her effort on investigative stories earlier this year earned her an Emmy nomination in the coveted “Journalistic Enterprise” category.  Emmy award winners will be announced next month.

“Marci has been doing great investigate work for Fox16 for the last year,” said Fox16 News Director Austin Kellerman.  “This specific initiative and branding allows us to showcase her work in a unique way.  It also lets viewers know who to call when they have a story that might take a little extra digging or effort.”

“I can’t promise that we can fix every problem. I can’t promise that we’ll always be able to resolve something with a story. But I can promise we’ll hear them out, and we’ll do due diligence in looking into the tips they give us,” said Manley.

As a supplement to Manley’s stories, Fox16 has set up a telephone hotline (501-340-4448) and investigation-specific email address (investigations@fox16.com).  All story tips will be kept confidential.

“I’m a firm believer in delivering on what you promise people,” added Manley. “I guarantee that people will be heard when they call or email us. I’m the one answering the tip line. I’m the one reading the emails. I’ll be calling you to see if there’s something I can do.  Sometimes, it’s about reaching the right person. And sometimes, I have the time and resources to do the digging others don’t.”

The first Fox16 Investigates stories will air this Wednesday and Thursday during Fox16 News at 9 p.m.
