Girl, 14, Charged in Blytheville Murder

BLYTHEVILLE, Ark. (localmemphis.com) - A 14-year-old girl has been charged with second degree murder in the death of a man who was found stabbed in a trailer park community.

The Blytheville Police Department (BPD) says it happened about 7:40 p.m. Sunday at the Cedar Grove Trailer Park on South Division Road.

Officers arrived to find a person trying to help Bennie Earl Holliman, 38, who was lying on the ground bleeding from a wound to his neck. He died after being taken to Great River Medical Center.

Police say the girl, whose name has not been released, surrendered about noon Monday. They say she is charged as an adult. Bond was set at $100,000 and her next court appearance is set for Feb. 21.

An autopsy is being done to determine Holliman's official cause of death.
