LR Firefighters Work to Put Out Flames at Woods Fire

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - A fire has been reported in a wooded area in Little Rock across the road from the Church at Rock Creek.

The Little Rock Fire Department (LRFD) was called to the woods fire at 3:50 p.m.

It was reported that there is no water hydrant near by so fire engines are working as a water source, shuttling water back and forth to the fire.

The captain says about 90 percent of the fire is contained and that they are working to put out the hot spots.

It was reported that the initial estimate appears to be less than an acre.

LRFD says no homes or buildings in danger at this point. Pulaski County is under a burn ban.

One lane of 36th street near Interstate 430 is blocked as firefighters work to put out the flames.

We will have more information as it becomes available.
