LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - A lawsuit claiming racial discrimination at the Little Rock Police Department (LRPD) has been filed in Federal Court.
It represents four African-American officers, including Sgt. Willie Davis.
Two others are expected to be added to the suit.
Their attorney, Michael Laux, says the LRPD has passed up African-American officers on promotions, pay raises and more.
"We're hoping the injunctive relief that we're seeking will really effect every officer in the department, certainly every minority officer in the department," he said in a Monday news conference announcing the lawsuit.
Laux says Lt. Johnnie Gilbert is expected to be added to the suit. Lt. Gilbert was critically injured in a hit-and-run crash last year.
The LRPD says it cannot comment on pending litigation.
