Mabelvale Shooting Leaves Man in Critical Condition; Suspect Arrested

SALINE COUNTY, Ark. - A man was arrested Thursday for a Monday shooting which left a victim in critical condition. 
 
During the early afternoon Monday, June 5, deputies with the Saline County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) were called to an address in the 24000 block of North Sardis Road for a disturbance.
 
Shortly after, they received word that a possible gunshot wound victim was en route to the Bauxite Fire Department in a personally owned vehicle.
 
When the victim arrived at the Bauxite Fire Department, his wounds were treated and he was quickly taken to an area hospital. His condition was listed as critical. 
 
Detectives from the SCSO Criminal Investigation Division (CID) responded to both the Bauxite Fire Department as well as the address on North Sardis Road.
 
After the CID detectives followed up on several leads, they were led to arrest Joseph Allen Taylor, 36.
 
Taylor was arrested Thursday evening in Pulaski County.
 
In addition to the charges filed by the SCSO, Taylor was found to have three additional active warrants for his arrest. He was charged with the following:
  • FAILURE TO APPEAR-FELONY                                       
  • FAILURE TO APPEAR                                               
  • FAILURE TO APPEAR-FELONY                                               
  • BATTERY - 1ST DEGREE                                               
  • POSSESSION OF FIREARM BY CERTAIN PERSONS                               
  • TERRORISTIC ACT
The Criminal Investigation Division and the United States Marshal Service were praised for putting in long hours and working around the clock in order to make this arrest.
 
The Saline County Sheriff thanked all the people who contacted the SCSO with tips from Monday afternoon until Taylor's arrest on Thursday evening.
