Man Dead, Another in Custody After Stabbing in Jefferson County

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ark. -- A man is dead and another in custody after a stabbing in Jefferson County.

47-year-old Tommy Tumlin has died from his injuries.

47-year-old Vincent Hooper has been arrested and booked into the Jefferson County jail.

It happened at a home in the 9900 block of Highway 270, near White Hall.

Sheriff's deputies say Hooper and Tumlin were friends who got into an argument after returning from fishing Saturday.

A release from the Sheriff's Office says Tumlin had stepped in to break up a domestic dispute between Hooper and his wife.

She left with her daughter before the stabbing occurred.

Hooper is being held without bond and is expected to face a first degree murder charge, according to the Jefferson County Inmate Roster.

He will appear in court for a probable cause hearing Monday morning.
