Mentor Needed for 9-Year-Old Sports Lover

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - Finding role models for young people is a big part of our Victory over Violence campaign. So far, more than 90 people have signed up to be a mentor, and we're hoping to find even more to make an impact in the community.
Darrien Ford is a fourth grader at Mabelvale Elementary, and he's a sports fanatic. He loves watching the Dallas Cowboys play football and the Dodgers play baseball.
He's also a pro on the baseball field.
"Short stop, first base and right field," Darrien says.
The 9-year-old also has big career ambitions, "I want to get a master's degree and be an oceanographer or wildlife biologist."
But a big career requires a lot of work and homework -- and Darrien would like some help.
"I want a mentor to help with homework and talk about sports," Darrien says.
You can join nearly 100 Arkansans who have signed up to be a mentor. If you would like to sign up, click here
