LITTLE ROCK, Ark -- A Little Rock mother, whose son was one of two teens shot and killed in March, is speaking out for the first time since her son's murder.
Kimberly Burnett can't help but shed tears remembering her murdered son, Lewis Wallace.
"He was quiet. He was humble. He was just a sweet kid," said Burnett. "I always tell him 'I love you' and 'The Lord is going to bless you.'"
Little Rock police said Wallace and his close friend, Stevie Howard Junior, were shot at the Spring Valley Apartments in March.
"It's a hurting feeling," said Burnett.
Wallace was pronounced dead on the scene ... Howard was transported to the hospital where he later died. Both were just 19-years-old. Burnett is doing her best to cope.
"It feels like it gets worse," said Burnett. "It gets harder, just knowing I won't see him again."
Gabriel Dillard is Wallace's girlfriend and Howard's cousin. Both teens were at her apartment complex the day they were shot and killed.
"A hurt feeling," said Dillard. "I'm so used to seeing [Wallace] ... hearing his voice, him calling me at lunch ... on my break."
She wears a t-shirt with an image of Wallace and Howard on it in memory of her loved ones.
"I will never forget them. I know that," said Dillard.
Wallace died just three days shy of his 20th birthday. Balloons from a recent community celebration for him are wrapped around power lines near the neighborhood he grew up in.
"He was a hard worker. Lewis made people laugh. He just liked to have fun," said Burnett.
Investigators said they have a person of interest, but no witnesses will come forward.
"I wish they would come forward," said Burnett. "Turn themselves in because I need justice for my son. Victory over violence."
Burnett said her son had dreams of being a truck driver and traveling cross country.
