BAXTER COUNTY, Ark. - A woman is behind bars after officials say she was found naked inside a home during an apparent burglary.
The Baxter County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) says it happened shortly before 11 p.m. Monday on Ravenwood Lane and that the suspect is believed to have been under the influence of meth.
Deputies say when the homeowners returned from shopping they heard something, then opened the door to find the suspect walking out of a bedroom and throwing things.
They told the BCSO the naked woman then ran outside and got into the homeowner’s pickup truck, tossing out a purse and soft drink before getting out, running to another nearby home and banging on the door.
The homeowner there opened the door, and the woman went inside, asking for help. That's where she was when deputies arrived. The woman was identified as Summer Marie Jones, 40 (also known as Summer Overmyer), whose last known address was in Alma, the BCSO said.
When deputies investigated the first home involved in the incident, they reported finding that Jones had gotten inside by tampering with the door lock. She allegedly caused $1,000 in property damage when she broke mirrors in two bedrooms and threw electronics onto the floor.
Jones is being held on $50,000 bond and is charged with Residential Burglary, Criminal Mischief, Criminal Trespass, Disorderly Conduct and Public Intoxication.
