New Security Procedures for all Ticketed Live Performances in LR Announced

Little Rock Convention & Visitors Bureau Announces New Procedures

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (News release) – Walk-through magnetometers will soon be utilized at Robinson Center, First Security Amphitheater, and Statehouse Convention Center for all ticketed live performances, announced the Little Rock Convention & Visitors Bureau (LRCVB) on Friday.

The first event walk-through magnetometers will be used at is the Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit concert at Robinson Performance Hall on Sunday, January 21 at 8 pm. Magnetometers have become an important tool for venues, and their use will now be mandatory for all live performances at LRCVB-managed properties.

“These new security procedures have become common practice in public assembly venues, and many promoters are requiring these type of security measures be in place,” said LRCVB President & CEO Gretchen Hall. “While there is no perfect system, patron safety is our number one priority and concern. We strive to insure our patrons have an enjoyable and safe experience at events in our managed facilities. We hope all our patrons will be patient as our staff adapts to this ‘new normal’ that we all face,” she added.

Guests are advised to arrive early to events, and bring only necessary items* in efforts to help expedite screenings. All patrons, employees, vendors and visitors will be required to be scanned. Expectant mothers and those with pacemakers will be screened with handheld devices. Patrons will not need to remove their hats, shoes, belts or watches as with airport security. Instead, they will place their cell phones, keys and any other metal objects on a security table prior to walking through the metal detectors. *Exceptions will be made for medically necessary items.
