ORLANDO, Fla. - NFL Hall of Famer and Osceola-native Cortez Kennedy has died at the age of 48.
A number of sports outlets, including ESPN, began reporting on the story early Tuesday afternoon.
KAIT Region 8 News in Jonesboro says police in Orlando, Florida confirmed Kennedy's death to the station.
"At this time there is nothing suspicious to report but we are conducting an investigation regarding his unattended passing," said Public Information Officer Sgt. Wanda Miglio in the KAIT report.
According to ESPN, Kennedy was an icon with the Seattle Seahawks who was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2012.
