LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - A Cabot woman employed at the Pulaski County Regional Detention Facility's (PCRDF) Inmate Finance Unit has been arrested in the investigation of more than $18,000 in missing money.
The Pulaski County Sheriff's Office (PCSO) says Anna Story, 62, faces a string of felony charges that includes 66 counts of forgery, 66 counts of computer fraud and one count of theft of property. She was arrested on Monday.
The investigation began on Feb. 2 after a discrepancy was found in a previous inmate's account.
Investigators learned that the county’s computer system was accessed and used to print 66 checks between April 12, 2016 and Feb. 14, 2017, in various inmate’s names. The day the checks were stamped for deposit into the county’s account, there was an equal amount of cash taken from the deposit.
The PCSO says the total amount of the theft was $18,228.12.
Story began working at the PCRDF in Jan. 2009.
