Realtors Warned of Scam in Central Arkansas

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - Realtors in two Central Arkansas counties are being warned about someone posing as a deputy sheriff and asking to meet with them.

The Little Rock Realtors Association issued the following warning on Wednesday via social media:
SAFETY ALERT!
Good Afternoon LRRA Members,
Your safety is very important to us. Please be aware of phone calls from someone "posing as a Deputy Sheriff" and advising you to meet them somewhere. This is a scam targeting REALTOR® members. At present, this has occurred in the Faulkner & Pulaski County areas.

Realtors across the country have had to increase safety measures since the killings of at least two realtors in recent years, including Beverly Carter, of North Little Rock.

Carter was kidnaped and killed in 2014. Two individuals convicted in the case are serving state prison terms.

In 2011, Iowa realtor Ashley Okland was shot and killed while working inside a West Des Moines model townhouse.
