ROGERS, Ark. (KNWA) -- A local man is recovering after officials say he fell down a cliff while gardening at his home overlooking Beaver Lake on Sunday morning.
The Rogers Fire Department (RFD) says it happened around 10:30 a.m. in the 8000 block of Cedar Terrace.
Fire officials say the man slipped and plummeted forward, dislocating his shoulder while falling down the rock side. After catching himself on a cliff shelf the fire department used ropes to perform a high angle rescue.
"Just take extra caution. They know where they live, and you know what your capabilities are. But they're called an accident for a reason. He didn't plan on slipping and falling. He planned on doing whatever his business was, and going about his way," says Capt. Clint Bowen with the RFD.
Officials say the man was taken to the hospital for treatment of injuries described as minor.
