Russellville Restaurant Hosts Free Thanksgiving Meal

RUSSELLVILLE, Ark.- A restaurant in Russellville did its part this holiday to show the community they care.

The Old South Restaurant hosted a free Thanksgiving lunch to anyone who came in between 11 and 2.

Anyone and everyone was welcome.

Jarret Pinkston and his fiance came to eat.  Pinkston says the two recently found a place to live after being homeless for a while. He says the free meal was a blessing.

"I couldn't thank them enough," says Pinkston. "It goes a long way to be able to have a hot meal cooked for you."

The staff prepares well in advance fpr the droves of diners who come through the doors.

Owner, Dale Summit says he hears all kinds of stories from people who come in, some who need a meal, others who are lonely, but everyone is thankful.

"We just felt we wanted at least one day that we can you know show them that we care," says Summit.

The restaurant gives all donations to three different charities and doesn't keep any of the profit.
