Texarkana Pastor Sentenced to Prison for Sexual Abuse

TEXARKANA, Ark. (KETK) - A Texarkana pastor has been sentenced to prison for sexual abuse.

According to Texarkana Today, David Wayne Farren, 42, of Texarkana, Arkansas, was sentenced to 15 years in prison for the sexual abuse of teenage girls.

The girls were members of youth ministry groups he led at several churches.

At the time of his arrest, Farren was the lead pastor of Anchor Church in Texarkana.

On Tuesday, Farren appeared with his attorney before Miller County Circuit Judge Carlton Jones, and pleaded guilty to seven counts of first-degree sexual assault, one count of second-degree sexual abuse and a count of violating mandatory reporting requirements. Texarkana Today reports Farren also pleaded "no contest" to one count of second-degree sexual assault.

He was sentenced to 15 years on each of the nine felony counts, to run concurrently.
