NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - A teenager is the only survivor in a deadly overnight fire.
Three men were killed in the fire that engulfed much of the North Little Rock house.
The victims have been identified by North Little Rock Police as Royce Kerchner, 71, Chin Shan Wang, 60, and Hsiao Wen Wang, 34.
A woman who also lived in the house was out of town, and is now arriving back home to devastation.
"It's always heartbreaking when something like this happens," Chief John Pflasterer
Firefighters were called out to the home on Alta Vista around 3 am.
The 911 call coming from inside the house.
After firefighters put out the flames, three men were found dead inside.
A 17-year old boy was able to escape but was taken to Arkansas Children's Hospital for smoke inhalation.
"Knowing that there was a teenage or young person that lived there it again touched home because I have kids myself," neighbor Jessica Hamman said.
"This morning when my dog alerted me to what was going on I had no idea that there was actually so much devastation happening," she said.
A realization surviving family and friends will now have to endure, and news Chief John Pflasterer will have to share.
We're told the wife who lived in the house was out of town.
Her husband and two other family members died in the fire.
Firefighters cannot yet confirm the relationship of the surviving teenager to the woman, other than they're family.
"It's unusual to have you know 3 people die or more and it's not something that we typically see and it's not something we ever want to see," Chief Pflasterer said.
Firefighters do not believe foul play is involved and are focusing their investigation on the back wooden deck.
"Initial indications are it's going to be an accidental cause, but we haven't finished our investigation yet."
Neighbors hope with more information, healing can begin.
