Toddler Murder Suspect Denied Juvenile Court Trial

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - A local judge today denied a murder suspect's request to have his case moved to juvenile court.

Larry James Jackson, 17, of North Little Rock, is one of two people charged in the Nov. 2016 killing of Ramiya Reed, 2.

Jackson and co-defendant Deshaun Malik Rushing, 21, face charges of capital murder and six counts each of unlawful discharge of a firearm from a vehicle.

Jackson and Rushing were arrested in May, six months after the toddler was shot while riding in a car with her mother, an adult cousin and four other children. Killed about two months after her second birthday, the little girl was the only one hit by bullets.
