Update: Man Shot to Death in Stuttgart

Suspect Jailed on Murder Charge

STUTTGART, Ark. - A local man has been shot to death and a suspect is in custody following a weekend incident.

The Arkansas State Police (ASP) says it happened around 3:20 p.m. Sunday at 400 North Lowe Street.

In a news release issued Monday morning, the ASP identifies the victim as Charles Lindel Ice, 39. He is reported to have suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the hospital. 

His body has been sent to the State Crime Lab as part of the investigation.

The ASP release states that according to initial witness statements, Ice was involved in a physical altercation with Morgan McDonald, 30, of Stuttgart, before the shooting happened. McDonald was found late Sunday evening and taken into custody by the ASP and the Stuttgart Police Department. He is being held at the Arkansas County Detention Center on charges of First Degree Murder and Felon in Possession of a Firearm.
