Update: Police Investigate Shooting at Maple & Asher in Little Rock

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. -- Little Rock police are investigating after they say a 15 year old boy was shot Wednesday night.

Officers reported to the area of S. Oak St. and Asher Ave. according 5 PM for reports of a shooting. An LRPD spokesperson says the teen was shot in the torso and they expect him to pull through.

Neighbors reported hearing multiple gunshots.

Arturo Rodriguez's elderly parents live a few doors down from where the shooting happened. He says his dad dropped to the floor when he heard the shots go off, not knowing where they were coming from. Rodriguez also says it's far from the first time his parents have witnessed gun violence while living on Oak St. The concerns keep up him at night sometimes, he says, and is now trying to convince his parents to move to Sherwood, where he currently lives.

Stephens Elementary School is also roughly a half mile from where the shooting took place.

Police are still investigating the circumstances that led up to the shooting. No word yet on any possible suspects.

We expect an update on the investigation and the teen's condition Thursday AM.
