Update: Shots Fired at Car in LR, Driver Killed

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - A local man has died after police say a passing car fired shots at his vehicle as he drove down the street.

The Little Rock Police Department (LRPD) says it happened shortly before 7:30 p.m. Sunday along MLK Drive.

Officers were called to the area of 21st and Pulaski streets, where Charles Levingston, 21, was found lying in the street beside his vehicle. Police say he was unconscious and had suffered a gunshot wound to the leg.

Levingston was taken by ambulance to the hospital and died soon after.

The LRPD says detectives spoke to a passenger who was with Levingston at the time he was shot. That person told police the shooting took place at 19th St. and MLK Drive. A crime scene was found at that location.

Police say they do not yet have any suspect information.

The shooting happened around 7:20 p.m. on 21st St. between Martin Luther King Dr. and Pulaski Street.

They say a man was found lying in the street.

Police have noy yet released any suspect information.
