BLYTHEVILLE, Ark. (AP) — Authorities in Blytheville say a teenager is dead after he was shot while walking home from school.
Blytheville Police Chief Ross Thompson says 18-year-old Miguel Estrada was shot while walking home on Holly Street at about 3:30 p.m. Thursday. Thompson says Estrada was taken to a Blytheville hospital where he later died.
Police arrested a 16-year-old and 15-year-old in connection with Estrada's shooting. Their names weren't released because of their ages.
Thompson says Estrada knew the juveniles and that there was a "history of threats" between them.
Blytheville Superintendent Richard Atwill tells the Blytheville Courier News that the suspected shooter went to school with Estrada.
