NEWPORT, Ark. (AP) — Arkansas State Police say two women were killed and two children were injured after a sport utility vehicle collided with a dump truck.

Authorities say the fatal crash happened Tuesday on Arkansas Highway 226 in Jackson County. Authorities say the crash remains under investigation, but that a Mack truck collided head on with an SUV driven by 22-year-old Andrea Benham.

Benham was killed in the crash, along with her passenger, 25-year-old Felecia Davis. Both women were from Manila.

Authorities say a 7-month-old boy and a 2-year-old boy who were in the SUV were injured and taken to a hospital in Memphis, Tenn.

The truck's driver was not injured in the collision.

I read the Arkansas state police report. The accident is still being investigated. Maybe there will be a follow up story.

All of these accidents and fatalities on our roads is getting out of hand. What really is going on? Tired pull over, drunk or drinking then don't drive, no text and drive. This is a terrible story and those poor kids. I pray those kids recover soon and and prayers to the families.
