LITTLE ROCK, AR -- In just a few weeks, some Arkansas voters will pick their next U.S. Representative from the 2nd district or they could choose to keep Republican incumbent Tim Griffin.

Griffin faces Democrat Herb Rule, Libertarian Chris Hayes, and Green Party candidate Barbara Ward.

Sunday at the downtown library, all four candidates participated in a forum and told voters their plans to help fix the current economy.

"We need to reform the tax code; both at the business level, corporate level and at the individual level. We have 60,000 pages of a tax code. That's not a tax code that lends itself to growth," said Griffin.

Ward says she would concentrate on small businesses.

"Those are the people who create jobs. I think Mr. Obama has done a great job with the auto industry and bringing them back. I believe we can do that with other companies," said Ward.

Each candidate agrees getting the economy back on track is priority number one. But they have different opinions on how to get people working again.

"I will have a person in my office, whose job will be in the face with small business people, county officials, and state officials," said Rule.

Voters will decide November 6.

"I think Congress needs to take hold of the purse strings again and take it away from the federal reserve. I think once Congress does that, then the people are back in power," said Hayes.
