LITTLE ROCK, AR – More than $20,000 worth of bronze sculptures have been stolen from the Vogel Schwartz Sculpture Garden in Riverfront Park.

The police report says the first sculpture, ‘Conversations With Myself’ was stolen by breaking the statue off at the base. The second sculpture, ‘Birds of Happiness,’ was stolen using a grinder to remove it from its base. The third, ‘Uptown Saturday Night,’ was taken by grinding the mounting bolts off from the bottom of the sculpture.

Given that the sculptures are made of bronze, police believe they may have been taken to a scrap yard.

ArkYank - the only ones that put out crap about the safety of the rivermarket are the ones that profit, that simple. It is a VERY dangerous area that smart people stay clear of

I'm not condoning crime by any means; but after looking at that picture; I'd have to say the Riverfront looks better now! Do they really call that "art"? Hey guzzler; what was that group that came here a month or two ago? Saying LR was one of the safest places to visit? Or something like that. Obviously, they did not take FBI stats into consideration!

Very accurate post bat102 - the rivermarket has become one of the most dangerous places in the city, second only to the SWLR Ghetto

Just 1 more reason not to go to the river market, gon shots, car jackings, fights, and this ,more cops in area and they didn't catch this going on,I wouldn't go near the Clinton trailer too.

That took some time.. & a truck... & some grunts. Guess they need to put cameras up before they replace them. They may show up at a flea market but I doubt it. Hope they catch them... & they have to pay for the damages & go to jai.

WTF? Definitely not the work of ghetto rats, too much work and technology involved. I'd say these thefts were committed by art connoisseurs gone bad or meth heads with lingering knowledge of the use of power tools.
