Three children are dead after their home caught fire in Madison just west of Forrest City. A mom and her nine-month-old baby got out but the flames were too intense for her to rescue her other kids.

The mom was sleeping in a bedroom with her baby. When she realized the house was on fire she grabbed the baby. But she couldn't get to the other side of the house to rescue the other kids.

LaTasha Mills is grieving the loss of her three siblings. 13-year-old Kayla, 10-year-old Kierra and 4-year-old Michael Williams.

Firefighters got the call at 1:19am Friday. When they got there, the house was fully engulfed. They ripped the door off to get inside but it was too late to save the three kids.

After combing the house thoroughly, firefighters say they did not find any smoke detectors and it looks like the stove may have started the fire. LaTasha says she would do anything to take this pain away for her mom and the rest of them.

”Oh...I would hug them and say please come back. Stay one more hour. One more minute with him,” she said.

Now, we're told the mom is taking this extremely hard. Family members tell me she's blaming herself for not being able to rescue her children.

Because the mother lost everything a memorial fund has been set up. Donations can be made to the Mills-Williams memorial fund at the First National Bank of Eastern Arkansas Their phone number is 870-633-3112.
