LITTLE ROCK, AR – A search of a home on Tupelo Trail in Bismarck found “an elaborate marijuana grow operation” Tuesday afternoon. The Hot Spring County Sheriff’s Office says they found 35 pot plants, grow lights, and a “sophisticated watering system.”

Arrested are Chad Crumpton and his wife Joleen Crumpton. Both are in the county jail awaiting formal charges.

The sheriff’s office says they were conducting a welfare check of a child living in a grow house. When they arrived at the house, deputies say they smelled marijuana, and obtained a search warrant for the house.

Chad Crumpton, who arrived at the house before the search, was arrested at the scene. Joleen Crumpton was picked up later in Hot Springs.

Lets hear it for the inept heroes... Big bust heroes we can all sleep better now knowing that you got these violent criminals off the street and the evil weed. Now you heroes can go home suck down a 12 pack and beat the crap out of your wife.

My baby is 34 with his own children and I'm elderly. Live with one person in the form of Granny Grump. Leave me and the weed alone. At my age you can afford to burn the candle at both ends, around the middle, up and down front and back. Worry about something that matters. Like abortion. Legal murder. With that going on what is wrong with a little pot.

Big deal regarding the weed, I am more concerned over meth, herion and so on. I do agree wih jwonoke...they were there on welfare check and discovered the weed. There are responsible weed parents out here and what it looks like tese parents were not. My biggest concern will always be the welfare of children and elderly. Folks I can care less if ou smoke herb but if you have children, bemore responsible. Your child and your childs needs as well as health should and always come before any drug...ciggs, alcohol, weed or whatever you doing.

Obviously more to this than just the bust - "The sheriff’s office says they were conducting a welfare check of a child..." so there was a previous unmentioned reason they were there.

35 plants, what a massive bust. In the meantime, there were 15 methlabs going that went unnoticed.

People I've been telling you there in lots of houses. From the size right down to growing a few. No being on the road with it. Just sitting back puffing away. In your own home. I'd have one except for four little letters. L I F E. Got to stay out here to anger people as much as I can.
