New jobs are coming to Little Rock. Boyd Metals a metal distributor just broke ground Tuesday.  Their new warehouse is located on 10 acres in the Little Rock port industrial park. About 50 jobs will be open once this new warehouse is built. Everything should be complete by November.

The building will be massive, more than 36,000 square feet. Boyd Metals VP of marketing, Audie Dennis, says while many companies are downsizing this $6 million investment shows their commitment to Little Rock.

"It's a great for us as a company, exciting for employees. It's great for the community to turn on the TV and hear something positive," Dennis said

"It's a great place to do business and it is one more feather in our cap. It's nice to have a company that works hard," says Little Rock Mayor Mark Stodola.

Boyd Metals opened up shop in a small leased facility on Bond Street in 2006. Company leaders say they're doing well mainly because they distribute metal to several different types of companies, from those who make refrigerators to those making trucks.

"Our customer base is diverse. From welding to large manufacturing companies, we're not tied to the automotive industry," Dennis said.

With sales growing, company leaders had no choice but to expand. "We're busting at the seems and we don't have the room to do the things we need to do," Dennis tells us.

Company leaders are looking to fill all types of jobs. Salaries will be anywhere from $10 and hour to $15 an hour. To find out more about the jobs offered go to Boyd Metal Careers.
