7 More Lawsuits Filed Against ExxonMobil

Plaintiffs allege property damage, exposure to noxious fumes and disruption of their lives as a result of the spill.
MAYFLOWER, AR -- ExxonMobil will soon be preparing to face more lawsuits.

Plaintiffs filed seven lawsuits in Faulkner County Court on Tuesday in connection to the March 29 rupturing of the Pegasus Pipeline, which sent oil spilling into the Northwoods Subdivision in Mayflower.

All of the plaintiffs allege property damage, exposure to noxious fumes and disruption of their lives as a result of the spill.

The suits say ExxonMobil knew in 1988 of the deficiencies in the welded pipe used in the construction of the Pegasus Pipeline, which spilled 210,000 gallons of oil into the neighborhood.

ExxonMobil also faces litigation from the United States and Arkansas governments, as well as a class-action suit from other homeowners in the area.
