LITTLE ROCK, AR – Norovirus caused more than 100 students to miss classes at Pulaski Heights Middle School last week, according to the Arkansas Department of Health.
In a letter to parents, the Little Rock School District says doctors described the strain of Norovirus as “a relatively benign, self-limited viral illness that is spread by person-to-person contact."
Last Friday, the parents of 82 students said their children would not be in to school due to sickness. Another 55 students left school early, complaining of stomach problems.
Over the weekend the school was “deep cleaned.” Additionally, antibacterial soap has been placed in all the restrooms to help prevent “ongoing disease.”
