@arkyny; What gave you the impression that I speed? Not my style; on the bike or in the truck. Heck, when I pass a Trooper giving someone a ticket, I give the Trooper a silent "thank you" and gain a smile thinking of how much money it's going to cost the person getting the ticket! Shoot, when I go to the VA on 167, I-40/30, I-30, and 630, I drive the speed limit, and everyone passes me! I'm totally against speeding; lost too many friends from driving like that.

ArkansasYankee, its just like the story told of a Texas A&M Aggie, he was told that most car accidents happen within a mile from home so he moved. Same thing, slow down and respect what they are trying to do for your, our, safety!!

I'm pretty sure I read a few years ago that head on's were the biggest cause of traffic deaths in our state. So I agree, anything to cut down on this statistic would be a good thing. Me, I wear a helmet most of the time; if I'm just going into Jax to the store for something, I may not; but I wear it if I'm going outside of town. Get a kick out of RUB's; shorts, sneakers, no eye protection ( required by law ), and so on. Even though most of us on here don't know him personally; tell the "bum" he is in the thoughts and prayers of many of us.

If you don't want to wear a helment why worry about a leg. Head leg leg head. Easy choice. I'm glad butch doesn't ride anymore. Head on collisions are very nasty. I'd be glad to see anything put to use to help stop them. The bum is still breathing. LOL

Ms Ellie; Good points! Me, I don't think the backwoods politicians in this state really give a rat's rear end about those of us that ride 2 wheelers. JOKER; People that do not obey the speed limit are part of the reason our state is spending our money to put these things up. And when they do put them up, they'll probably ( I hope ) have a Trooper on the other side as well. protector20; Well said!

So they say it will take three years and cost $74 million. That means, in reality, it will take 6 years and cost $150 million. We have to figure in the amount of time AHTD workers need to sit and watch one person do all the work.

I like the idea of the Troopers not being able to shoot across the median "if" they catch you on radar....hehehehehe.

Motorcycle riders call these "cheese cutters". If we are forced into the medium & hit the cables it will "cut off" legs, arms, heads or what ever. These have cause many injuries to car/truck drivers as well. They are banned in some states. They are cheap but that does not mean safe.
