One car split in half and two caught fire during an early morning accident on Interstate 430. A woman died and several others were injured. Police are looking for the driver of a fourth car they say could have contributed to the accident.

Arkansas State Police have released the names of the victims. Marcese Lozono of Alexander died in the crash.  Israel Lopez, Keith Fisher and Passionate Joiner were injured. We do not know the extent of their injuries.

Pieces of metal and burned grass are all evidence of the accident that happened I-430, but this doesn't even begin to show the severity of it. Police want to talk to a driver of a white van or SUV that left the scene. Hopefully that person can help them figure out what caused this accident.

Mangled and burned cars are the aftermath of a rush hour accident that took a woman's life.

State police say this all happened when a car travelling southbound on 430 lost control crossed the median and slammed right into oncoming traffic.

"The vehicle that slid across the median broke in two ejecting one person and then the vehicle that collided with it went across and collided with a third car," says Sergeant Bennie Cox with the Arkansas State Police.

They slid across several lanes on to the shoulder and burst into flames. The people in those cars suffered some injuries. The driver thrown from her car died on the scene. Witnesses told police a fourth vehicle that may have set the whole accident in motion kept going.

"Apparently a white van either changed lanes or clipped it causing it to lose control," says Sgt. Cox.

While Trooper Bennie Cox doesn't know if this accident could have been avoided, he offered this advice for navigating rush hour traffic..

"Just be patient, don't follow to close and don't cut folks off," says Sgt. Cox.

The accident happened around 7:22 Wednesday morning. It closed down the northbound lanes and slowed traffic southbound for about two hours.
