Accidental Shooting Injures Two at Hot Springs Gun Show

One man was shot in the hand, another was grazed by the bullet.

HOT SPRINGS, AR-- Hot Springs Police have confirmed an accidental shooting injured two people at the Lions Club Gun Show.

Officers responded to the call shortly after 11:00 a.m. Saturday to the Hot Springs Civic Center.

According to investigators, 42-year-old Charles Pike picked up a pistol off of a vendors table.

The gun went off striking Pike in the left hand.

The round then glanced off of the floor and struck 37-year-old William Bennett in the left side of his chest.

The bullet did not penetrate Bennett’s chest.

Both subjects was transported to local hospitals for treatment of non life threatening injuries.

Hot Springs detectives are investigating this incident.

The gun show is continuing as planned.
