Thousands of people flocked into North Texas for their shot at American Idol fame. Registration began two days ago, and auditions are now underway. Contestants braved the 100+ degree heat while waiting outside of the brand new Cowboys Stadium for their chance to try out.

This is round one of the audition process. If a contestant makes it through the first round, they'll have to get through a couple more before being heard in front of Paula, Randy, Simon, and Kara.

We're following many Arkansans in their journey to the auditions. We'll find out in January if any of them made it through to Hollywood.
