With nearly 100 million votes this week, Arkansas' own Kris is the new American Idol!!!  It was an amazing competition!  The Dark Horse, the underdog, and the humble one took America by suprise and walked away with a dream fulfilled!  All he could say was "this is crazy!"

Simon said "You are both brilliant, unusually incredibly nice people. You should be proud of what you did last night."
"Two fantastic people and a fantastic show," Kris Allen's dad said.

"They are both winners and we are so thriled to be a part of all of it," says Adam Lamberts mom.

After the spolights turned off, Kris talked about Adam, "Me and Adam are really good friends and I think we hugged each other and he told me 'Dude you deserved this' and I shot it right back at him cause he does, he totally deserves this.”

"Arkansas, thank you so much for everything and the tour is going to be fun so I’m glad that’s its going to be packed out. It’s going to be a blast so be ready,” Kris says.

Even some of the other Idols talked about how great Kris was.

“I’m just so proud of Kris.  He’s such a humble guy great person, great musician, true artist and I can’t wait to hear his single on the radio in a couple months,” says Matt Giraud.

“I am so proud of him, I’m proud of him. I was screaming my head off. I’m still trying to collect myself cause I was out there going ballistic but I mean he’s a great guy he deserves it,” says Lil Rounds.

In a star studded American Idol season finale there were some big names in music that performed with each Idol contestant.

The broadcast from the NOKIA Theatre L.A. LIVE in downtown Los Angeles also featured appearances by Queen Latifah, Jason Mraz, Keith Urban, Fergie, The Black Eyed Peas, Cyndi Lauper, Lionel Richie, KISS, Carlos Santana, Steve Martin, Rod Stewart and Queen.

Lambert and KISS rocked the house with a medley of “Beth,” “Detroit Rock City” and “Rock and Roll All Nite,” while Allen took the stage with Keith Urban to sing “Kiss a Girl.”

Third-place finisher Danny Gokey performed “Hello,” “Just Go” and “All Night Long” with Lionel Richie, and Allison Iraheta sang “Time After Time” with Cyndi Lauper. Finalists Anoop Desai and Alexis Grace sang “I’m Yours” with Jason Mraz, while Lil Rounds and Queen Latifah performed “Cue the Rain.”

To cap off the night, Allen and Lambert joined Queen in a show-stopping rendition of “We Are the Champions.”

American Idol also didn't want to forget those who made tryouts even more enjoyable with their quirky performances.  Nick Mitchell, Norman Gentle, accepted the award for the guys.  His sparkley shirt and comedic attitude was memorable.

Kartrina Daryl won the award for the girls.  She walked out onto the stage in a bikini and sang a song for the fans at Nokia before Kara jumped in and stole the show.  Kara also took off her dress to reveal a bikini! For doing so money is being donated to the charity of her choice.

For the Idol Award for outstanding female, Tatiana DelToro won.  She was known for her laughing and not listening.  When Ryan Seacrest tried to cut to break, she refused to have it and walked on stage anyway.  She also kept getting past security.
