A jury finds Curtis Vance, 29, guilty of capital murder in the death of anchorwoman Anne Pressly. Here is a timeline from the crime to the arrest.

October, 20 2008
  • A quiet neighborhood in the Heights is rocked with horrifying news. Anne was viciously attacked in her own home and hospitalized.
  • Anne’s mother, Patricia Canady, was in town that weekend and found her daughter laying in her bed unconscious.
October, 21 2008
  • Hours after the attack Pressly remains hospitalized in critical condition Her doctors were cautiously optimistic.
  • Her parents issue this statement: "Anne has a long struggle of recovery ahead of her. She is a fighter, a strong, healthy and physically fit young woman. We expect her to recover completely. We ask that you continue to pray for Anne and for us."
October, 22 2008 
  • A new development as investigators dust Pressley's home for fingerprints. Surveillance video at a local gas station is confiscated. But police refuse to comment, fearing it could jeopardize their investigation.
October, 24 2008 
  • Pressly remains in critical condition as her father speaks to the media for the very first time.
  • As for the investigation, police remain tight lipped but assure everyone that all is being done to find the killer.
October, 25 2008 
  • Five days after the attack, there is tragic news that no one is prepared for, Anne died in the hospital.
October, 30 2008
  • Hundreds attend a touching and moving memorial to honor and celebrate a life that was taken too soon.
  • As Arkansans mourn her loss, America's Most Wanted arrives in town hoping to generate more leads for police.
November, 26 2008
  • 37 days after the brutal attack a major break in the case police identify Curtis Vance, 28, as their number one suspect. They did not know where he was.
  • Less than 45 minutes after this late night press conference, a tip leads police to 24th and Cross Street where Vance was located. Taken into custody and then charged with capital murder.

Not to downplay the sadness of this event but unless you want to start giving every homicide this much attention you should report the story and then move on. Is a timeline really necessary?
