The state needs $54 million to avoid a 50 percent insurance spike for public school workers.
LITTLE ROCK, AR -- Teacher insurance spikes are the center of attention on Tuesday inside the governor's office.

The state needs $54 million to avoid a 50 percent insurance spike for public school workers.

The meeting lasted two and a half hours, but a compromise was never made.

"I think everybody wants to find a solution but when you get down to details like anything else, it becomes difficult to get a consensus,"

"It was good process that was made," Gov. Mike Beebe said. "Now the devil is in the details, trying to work out all the details." "

Leaders are trying to find a long and short-term plan.
