LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - A Senate committee Wednesday again rejected a bill that would have let holders of concealed-weapons permits take handguns into Arkansas churches, synagogues and mosques.
The bill died in the Senate Judiciary Committee when it failed to receive enough "Yes" votes.
Rep. Beverly Pyle had revised a bill that the committee rejected last month. This time around, the Republican from Cedarville proposed letting churches determine themselves whether guns should be allowed.
Under current law, concealed weapons cannot be taken into bars or churches.
