FORT SMITH, Ark. (AP) — Authorities in Fort Smith say a man is dead after he was attacked during an apparent home invasion.

Fort Smith Police Cpl. Patricia Sullivan says officers were called to investigate a burglary at about 4 a.m. Monday at a home on Brazil Avenue. Sullivan says that a man apparently broke into the home and stabbed a man who lived there.

Sullivan says the suspect was subdued by other occupants at the house.

The victim, 24-year-old John Jackson, was taken to a Fort Smith hospital where he later died. Police say the suspect was also taken to a hospital, but he has not been arrested or charged yet in the attack.

Another piece of trash to house and feed for a few years. Should have been left in the house without a pulse.

Sure would like more of this story. Home invasion with a knife? Perp was taken down AFTER he killed someone? Most of the people I know; a home invasion with a knife will get you carried away in a bodybag.
