LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) — Little Rock police have released the name of a man shot and killed by officers investigating an assault on the city's west side.

Sgt. Cassandra Davis said Saturday that 43-year-old Donald O'Fallon died Friday after officers Matthew Hoffine and James Anderson opened fire on him.

Hoffine and Anderson were placed on paid leave pending an investigation into the shooting.

A police report says the officers were investigating a report of an assault involving a man and a woman and that the woman said she and O'Fallon had been arguing when O'Fallon hit her. The report says O'Fallon then came out of the home with a weapon and was shot by the officers.

It was not revealed how many shots were fired or how many times O'Fallon was struck.

He was not yelling at the police either, did not threaten them, did not say anything just stood there and was shot.

The gun Donald "Keith" had was not loaded. The cops were close enough to be able to tell this but must have panicked. It is not illegal to stand in your doorway with an unloaded weapon. The cops are supposed to be trained to defuse situations. ???

The police were called in response to a man threatening or injuring someone at this residence. The police show up and the man not only does not calm down, but apparently decides to do the same thing with the police. Sounds like the calling for police was not only necessary but may have saved the other person's life. You may have the right to possess a weapon, but you do not have the right to threaten anyone, including the police, with it. Your weapon is to insure your safety, not endanger others.

Not good enough! Was he or had he threatened them with it? Was is a firearm? Did he point it at them? If not did they tell him to put it down? The reality is that you have a right under state law to possess a weapon on your own property, no permit required and the fact is most cops don't like it and will try and tell you otherwise.

I've said it a hundedtimes...."what you do today will determin where you will be tomorrow......if your stupid enough bring any weapon to place where officers are, then you have harvested your own future....it don' matter if it wa a threat or not it was a weapon....and as many times as the officers are at danger why should they wait to risk of their spouse raising child alone...
