One day after the Arkansas House of Representatives overrode Gov. Mike Beebe’s veto of an abortion limitation bill, the Arkansas Senate followed suit.

On a 19-14 vote, State Senators agreed to override the veto of HB 1037, a bill that would restrict abortions after 20 weeks. Eighteen votes were needed to override the veto.

Beebe said HB 1037 by Rep. Andy Mayberry (R-Hensley), the “pain capable abortion” bill, violated the U.S. Constitution and would cost taxpayers money through litigation.

Mayberry respectfully disagreed and pushed for the override of the veto of his bill.

“I think this is a great bill. It saves babies lives. This bill – even under the current Roe v. Wade ruling – is constitutional,” he said.

The bill will go into effect immediately now that both chambers have overridden the veto as it has an emergency clause provision attached to it.

The Senate also voted to send a 12-week abortion ban bill to Governor Beebe's desk.

I have adopted, from China. We tried for several years here in AR but the system is all about reunification. So, we watched children go back to abusive homes and/or crack head mama's that cleaned up enough to get her child (and his foodstamps) back. The list to adopt IS long, I was on it for years.

thaone-obviously you know nothing about the adoption world. There are people who are waiting on adoption lists for years! Newborn babies are not a burden to taxpayers, if anything, they bring in revenue...adoption fees are not cheap! If you dont want to have a baby, use birth control or better yet, obstain from sexual intercourse. Unborn babies deserve the right to live.

I never read these bills or try to understand them. Their wrong. Life starts when the sperm hits the egg. To terminate it after that is murder. I don't even like the morning after pill. Murder too. If you don't want them stop them before you start.
