LITTLE ROCK, AR -- In the Arkansas State Capitol rotunda Sunday, families came to honor America's veterans.

"While we celebrate today with words, we must not forget the words must be accompanied by the kinds of deeds necessary to pay honor and tribute to men and women who have the uniform of the United States military," said Governor Mike Beebe.

World War 2 hero Alfred Bauldwin says at one time, veterans didn't get a lot of attention from political leaders.

"It has changed a lot. They used to not recognize us as much as they do now," said Bauldwin.

Special thoughts were also given to those heroes fighting right now.

"So many of our men and women have paid the ultimate sacrifice just so you and I can enjoy the freedom and democracy that we are experiencing here today," said veteran R.D. Kinsey.
