Sj2206 you sound like a noble person.First go to u-tube and listen to the Confederate Anthem that's how we still feel today.90 percent of the people in the South dislike the North more now than in 1865.The Southern people have a different blood than yankee's that's just the way it is.Civil War reenactments are just practice.Confederate Flag we stand behind it because so many Southern men died under that flag, as did a lot of yankees 260,000 to be exact 150,000 rebels that's almost 2 to 1 so who really lost.Rebel Flag fighting terrorist since 1865.You must hear the Confederate Anthem it's on u-tube.And for the few Southern people that still live here and dont feel the same way get on across that Mason Dixon line.Have a Dixie Day.

rebel2: I don't know if you comment was directed towards me but I am sure that most know that there was a slave trade WELL BEFORE there was a Confederacy. What happened back then is not my question of the current day(ConfederateOne I got a bit of this in an earlier answer from you-- i.e.-- no need to fear the White Southern man). My question really is based on the principal of me (having had and continue to have many White friends from all over the nation-- including the South) not knowing anyone who has ever sported or supported the flag. I merely wanted to know what people like that are like. I AM VERY INTERESTED TO KNOW. Not judge. I've stated before my issues with the flag. While I still hold those thoughts I am beyond them in this conversation. This really is a chance for ANYONE who supports or sports the flag to give me insight into that culture. Again, I am very interested to know. Note: I am, as I have been told, very monotone in my speaking and it sometimes comes out in my writing. If I have come across as cold or mean I really did NOT mean to. If I have offended anyone I offer my apologies. Alrighty: ConfederateOne. Yes, I do know that no one was charged nor tried with treason, but I do believe it to have been.. just my personal belief. Does Black on Black crime exist? Of course it does, my fear of people who sport that flag is a natural reaction due to the natural law of self preservation and raw human emotion. Is everyone who sports and supports that flag an evil, bigoted murderer? I can say with a very high certainty that they are not. You can't apply a blanket statement to an entire group of people. My issue is that I feel the need to be watchful as I, to be very blunt, cannot tell the difference between the "good" ones and "bad" ones. A taboo question that people ask about all groups. Keep in mind that when I posed my earlier question it was out of hope to find insight into that culture. Not to purely identify the "good" ones, but for the sake of learning about a demographic in society that I have no knowledge of. Then again, maybe I should move north, run away to freedom (LOL-- just a joke). It may be that I just understand that culture better and fit with it, but it doesn't mean that I am not interested in learning about others and what they have to say. Again... thats just me. :)

More people died from Arkansas died in the 4 years of the War Between the States, than in Iraq. The Confederate flag NEEDS to be flown to honor their sacrifice just like the US flag for todays veteran. Every against the flag need to bone up on history and come back and we can have a real discussion.

Who was tried for treason? Who was convicted of treason? Remember, it is better to be thought of as a fool than to speak up and remove all doubt. Why would you make such a foolish statement, when the record clearly does not support your ascertain. No one in the Confederate government was ever charged with treason. Not President, Jefferson Davis nor his Vice President, Alexander Stephens. No one in the Confederate Cabinet was ever charged with treason. No one in the Confederate Army was ever charged with treason. As far as your fear of being lynched and being dragged behind a truck, I would tell you that you have a better chance of being struck by lightning. When your death comes, it will not be a pickup truck bearing a Confederate Battle Flag license plate proclaiming "Heritage Not Hate" being driven by a southern white man. Your death will more likely be at the hands of people that look a lot like you! You have a much better chance of being killed in a 'drive by shooting' of someone that looks a lot like you. You have a much better chance of being the victim of a 'home invasion' by someone that looks a lot like you.
